If a Type 992 is a little too common and sanitised, and you’ve got megabucks burning a hole in your trust fund, the Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer might be your cup of single origin tea.

Although it is inspired by the rare wide-body variant of the 911 from 1980s, this restomod is based on the later Type 964 chassis.

Red Bull Advanced Technologies — a consultancy spun off from the British Formula One racing team — has added composite and steel reinforcement in strategic locations throughout the car’s chassis to improve torsional rigidity.

While the body is mimics the look of the 1980s-era Super Sport Equipment wide-body 911, it is actually a modern recreation fashioned out of lightweight, but expensive, carbon-fibre.

Buyers can choose between a fixed whale tail, or a speed-activated rear wing. Also on the options list are auxiliary lights that rise out of the bonnet.

Hanging out the back is the 964’s six-cylinder boxer engine that’s been reworked by Cosworth. Changes include an increase in capacity from 3.6 to 4.0 litres, new water-cooled four-valve cylinder heads, variable valve timing, reworked intakes, and a titanium exhaust.

Singer claims the changes result in a power output of 313kW, as well as a flatter torque curve. The Cosworth-fettled engine is hooked up to a six-speed manual transmission with an exposed shift mechanism.

The restomod rides on 18-inch centre-lock wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, and four-way adjustable dampers with electronic control that can be adjust from inside the car. Traction control and stability control are standard, while carbon ceramic brakes are an optional extra.

Both vehicles displayed at the car’s launch have been tailored differently by their respective owners. The blue car has a Mars Pink interior with sports seats featuring velvet corduroy centre sections.

The louder, yellow vehicle has lightweight racing seats finished in leather and cloth, and the rear seats have been replaced by a cross brace.

Both vehicles have air conditioning, and a subtle infotainment system with navigation and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

No price is listed as “Singer’s restoration services are dependent on the specification requested by each car’s owner”. The Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer is limited to 100 commissions.
