Australian electric vehicle (EV) charging giant Evie is offering customers 20 per cent off its normal prices at more than 40 locations for the next fortnight, easing the cost of travel for holidaymakers.

From now (8:00am AEST on Thursday, April 17) until 9:00pm on Wednesday, April 30, Evie’s reduced charging prices are claimed to save EV drivers up to 14.5 cents per kWh depending on the location.

At some of its 42 eligible locations, the cost of charging your EV is now as low as 51 cents per kWh.

You can find a list of eligible Evie locations here.

For members of the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland (RACQ), an extra 4 cents per kWh discount is being applied at all Queensland and certain northern New South Wales charging locations, resulting in savings of up to 18.5 cents per kWh.

Evie also offers its Autocharge feature across Australia, allowing EV owners to pull up at a charging station, plug in and start charging without the need for a smartphone application or RFID card.

To use Autocharge, Evie customers will need to have their car’s details pre-filled on their smartphone account, which the charging station will detect when the vehicle is plugged in, subsequently starting the charging session and drawing payment when it concludes.

EV sales boomed in Australia last year, when 91,292 battery-powered vehicles were delivered locally, while 23,163 plug-in hybrids (some of which can also be charged at Evie locations) also found homes.
