Volvo Car Australia is recalling the Volvo EX30 small electric SUV due to a battery defect that could lead to a fire.

“Due to a manufacturing issue, the cell modules installed in the high voltage battery may overheat at high charge levels. If this occurs, it could lead to a vehicle fire,” the company says in its recall notice.

“Keep the battery charge level below 70 per cent which can be set in the Charging setting menu on the vehicle display.

“A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property.”
