The sixth-annual Velocity Invitational Motorsports Festival returns to Sonoma Raceway June 6-8, 2025. This event is anticipated to be packed with racing, awe-inspiring cars, famous drivers, and entertainment for the whole darn family—all in the heart of California wine country.
For three days, Velocity Invitational reunites the finest race cars of the past in their natural habitat: the racetrack. Spectators and participants can enjoy historic and cultural exhibits from museums and private collectors from around the world in the backdrop of some of the region’s (if not the country’s) best restaurants, wineries, breweries, and coffee estates.
“It was my childhood dream to bring together amazing automobiles, and that grew into my desire to create the most incredible automotive event in the world,” says Velocity Invitational founder Jeff O’Neill. “This event brings out historic cars that people never get to see, and they get to see, hear and smell them along with talking with their owners and drivers. This event isn’t just for car enthusiasts, we’ve designed it to be a place where everyone can access some of the best parts of car culture.”
This year’s event will feature 11 unique race groups that cover many eras of motorsport, from pre-war racers and tourers to modern supercars and hypercars—all on the track. For those striving for something more competitive, the second-annual Velocity Invitational Hill Climb should provide plenty of excitement.
The Velocity Invitational paddock is always filled with the exciting and rare. In the past, the event has been graced by both the McLaren F1 GTR and Longtail, the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster, plus hypercars from Pagani, McLaren, Lamborghini, and more. Which cars will show up for 2025?
It’s not just about the cars, of course. The famous people that have attended in the past include Mario Andretti, Zak Brown, Tony Kanaan, Lando Norris, and Romain Grosjean. Can you expect the same caliber of folks for autograph and Q&A sessions? You betcha!
“Our goal from day one was to create an event like no other,” says Velocity Invitational general manager Ryan Turri. “Guest experience is paramount for us and giving guests unprecedented access to motorsports, including direct access to Formula 1 stars and multi-million-dollar supercars in the paddock, is at the center of everything we do.”
