Two Peugeot EVs recalled

Peugeot Australia has recalled 20 electric vehicles (EVs) across its E-2008 and E-Partner model lines, due to a shared fault which could cause the small SUV and compact van to lose power.

“Due to a software issue, the Battery Monitoring Unit (BMU) in vehicles equipped with a high voltage battery may be defective,” said Peugeot in its recall notice.

“As a result, it could cause invalid cell voltage and incorrect temperatures leading to a sudden loss of motive power and/or engine stalling whilst driving.

“A sudden loss of motive power and/or engine stalling whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
