Toyota made several improvements to the GR Corolla for 2025, including introducing an eight-speed automatic transmission and boosting the car’s torque output, but it’s not done with the hot hatch just yet. We’ve seen spy shots of a rumored GRMN variant, expected to turn all of the car’s performance metrics up to 11, and now, Toyota has released official, albeit camouflaged, shots.
We don’t have any specs to go on, but the hatchback appears to sport a revised hood with additional venting, along with more functional vents on the fenders and sides. As Motor1 pointed out, the car rides on sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires instead of the OEM Pilot Sport 4 tires found on the regular car, and they’re slightly wider than today’s GR Corolla tires.
While the 2025 GR Corolla offers 295 pound-feet of torque, a boost over the previous year’s 273, Toyota said the GRMN would offer more than that, saying the car’s turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine has “unique tuning.” We also don’t know if Toyota will offer manual and automatic gearbox options for the car, given its specialized configuration.
Toyota plans to bring the car to the Long Beach Formula Drift event on April 12 and 13, but it could be a while before we get detailed specs and pricing. That said, it will likely eclipse the 2023 GR Corolla Morizo Edition’s MSRP, which landed at more than $51,000.
