The 2026 Renault Scenic E-Tech electric SUV has been confirmed for Australian release before the end of the year.

It will be the first time in over a decade the Scenic nameplate has been seen in Renault Australia showrooms, where it previously graced as a series of compact people movers and crossovers in the 2000s and early 2010s.

First revealed more than two years ago in 2023, the all-new five-seat EV will be available in two guises including a long-range variant with an 87kWh battery offering up to 625km of WLTP-certified driving range per charge.

Full local pricing and specifications will be revealed closer to launch, but Renault Australia has noted that in Europe the Scenic E-Tech “is available with a choice of three model grades, two battery capacities and two electric motor outputs”, potentially hinting at future plans for the Australian range.

Preliminary drivetrain specifications are detailed below.

Dimensionally, the Renault Scenic E-Tech is slightly larger than the Nissan Qashqai, putting it somewhere between the small and medium SUV segments in terms of size.

Width 1864mm
Height 1565mm
Wheelbase 2785mm

Joining the Megane E-Tech small SUV and the Kangoo E-Tech compact delivery van in Renault Australia’s EV lineup, the Scenic E-Tech will be the first of six new or updated models headed Down Under from the French brand over the coming 12-18 months.

The second cab off the rank will likely be the facelifted Captur light SUV, which is also due for Australian market launch before 2025 comes to a close.

CarExpert expects further announcements to be made around both the Captur and Scenic E-Tech in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for all the latest.
