recall alert bmw x1 and x2 mini countryman and cooper

We’ve got a recall involving several BMW and Mini models.

BMW of North America is recalling 1,571 vehicles, including certain 2025–2026 BMW X1 and X2, MINI Cooper Convertible, MINI Cooper, MINI Countryman S ALL4, and 2025 MINI Countryman SE ALL4 models. The torsion bar in the front seat belt retractors may have been damaged during production, which could prevent the seat belt from working properly in a crash.

Dealers will replace both front seat belt retractors at no cost. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on November 7, 2025, and VINs will be searchable on NHTSA.gov the same day. Owners can contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.
