Hyundai Australia is offering huge discounts for nearly all of its electric vehicles (EVs), including up to almost $35,000 off the price of its Ioniq 6 electric sedan ahead of the arrival of an updated model in local showrooms early next year.
Pricing for older stock dating back to the model year 2023 (MY23) has been discounted to from $49,990 drive-away nationwide for the entry-level Dynamiq 2WD variant.
According to Hyundai, that marks a saving of $27,564. The same model grade was listed at $71,500 before on-road costs when it was launched in 2023.
Similarly, the Ioniq 6 Techniq AWD is being offered as low as $54,990 drive-away – previously $82,000 before on-roads, marking a $33,589 saving – with the flagship Epiq AWD now priced at $59,990 drive-away, which is a $34,142 saving from its previous price of $87,288 before on-roads.

The company had a similar offer on the same vehicles earlier this year, which officially expired on March 3 but is still ongoing more than six months later.
There are less generous but still substantial discounts for the Ioniq 5 Standard Range (now $65,990 drive-away, a saving of $9779), the Kona Electric Standard Range (now $49,990 drive-away, a saving of $9189), and all three versions of the new pint-size Inster, which can now be had from $39,990 drive-away, marking a saving of at least $3320 (see the full price list below).
But the biggest savings are reserved for old stock of the Ioniq 6. The MY23 Ioniq 6 Dynamic 2WD has a 168kW/350Nm electric motor driving the rear wheels and claims a 7.4-second 0-100km/h time.
A 77.4kWh lithium-ion battery is used across the lineup and gives the entry-level model a 614km WLTP range on a single charge.
The Ioniq 6’s 800V electrical architecture allows an 80 per cent charge in as little as 18 minutes at its maximum 350kW DC fast-charging rate.
The Techniq and Epiq AWD variants add a second motor, enabling all-wheel drive and increasing combined outputs to 239kW and 605Nm, enabling a claimed 0-100km/h time of 5.1 seconds.
Range for the AWD models is 519km (WLTP) on two-inch larger diameter 20-inch alloy wheels with upgraded Pirelli tyres.
Standard equipment across all MY23 Ioniq 6 vehicles includes leather seat trim, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, eight-speaker Bose audio, smart key, connected services, a range of advanced driver assist tech and a five-star ANCAP rating.
The updated Ioniq 6 will bring more aggressive exterior styling as well as a new Ioniq 6 N performance flagship for the first time, which adopts the high-output powertrain from the Ioniq 5 N already on sale.
There are also cabin updates, including a larger centre screen and “more premium materials”, but Hyundai is yet to confirm any mechanical changes underneath the Ioniq 6’s revised skin.
In the first half of 2025, the Ioniq 6 was outside the list of top 50 best-selling EVs in Australia, with the Ioniq 5 being Hyundai’s most popular EV in 23rd place, ahead of the Kona Electric (30th) and the newly launched Inster (40th).
