How to get a free McLaren ride this Australian Grand Prix weekend

Jack Daniel’s wants you to go for a ride during the 2025 Australian Grand Prix, in the most entertaining and responsible way.

It’s inviting people to get inside a McLaren for a free drive from Crown Melbourne in Southbank to The Espy in St Kilda, or vice versa.

While you won’t be driving the McLaren – it’s a passenger ride only – you’ll be booking it for you and another person.

That’s because you’ll be “racing” your mate in the other car, with the McLarens kitted out with on-board headsets.

Hundreds of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now. Get the experts on your side and score a great deal. Browse now.

The free rides are running between 12pm and 10pm every day from Friday, March 14 to Sunday, March 16. You can register for one on the Jack’s Rides website, but slots are limited.

Each ride is valued at between $250 and $300, and the company is giving away around 100 rides.

Only those aged 18 and over can enjoy a Jack’s Ride, probably because each passenger will receive a complimentary Jack Daniel’s cocktail.

Jack Daniel’s will also have a “dedicated race HQ” set up at The Espy in St Kilda, with driver suits and a replica F1 car on display, live music, and plenty of the black-labelled beverage to serve.

Jack’s Rides and Jack’s Garage are activations celebrating the whiskey company’s partnership with the McLaren Formula 1 team, with the Jack’s Rides experience debuting in 2024.

McLaren wasn’t the only carmaker to celebrate a sporting sponsorship with free vehicle rides that year, with Kia giving complimentary trips in electric SUVs to tennis fans attending the Australian Open.

Kia continued this program at this year’s Australian Open.
