Chinese brand GAC has announced pricing for its first three models for Australia, and confirmed it’ll offer an unlimited-kilometre warranty.

GAC Australia officially announced the pricing and warranty information for all three at its Australian market launch in Sydney, which was attended by Wayne Wey, president of GAC International.

With customer order books opening today, November 18, and sales commencing across its 12-dealer strong network, GAC becomes the newest brand among a flooded Australian new-car market.

From launch, three new models will spearhead its Aussie arrival, with the petrol-powered Emzoom SUV – a Kia Seltos and Mazda CX-30 rival – expected to be the biggest seller of the launch trio.

It’s also the the cheapest of the three at $25,590 before on-road costs.

A second SUV, the electric Aion V, is priced at $42,590 before on-roads, significantly less than the top-selling Tesla Model Y ($58,990 before on-roads) and also undercutting the likes of the Leapmotor C10 ($45,888).

The third model is the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) M8 seven-seater starting at $76,590 before on-roads, more than the Kia Carnival hybrid but around the same ask as a diesel-powered Volkswagen Multivan.

Until December 31, 2025, all models will come with a $500 fuel (or charging) voucher, while buyers of the Aion V or M8 will also receive a further $1000 off plus a 22kW wall charger.

With a petrol model, PHEV and BEV, the brand has a foot in three core powertrain camps from the get-go in Australia.

GAC has announced petrol models will get a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, with electrified vehicles – for now, meaning the Aion V and M8 – having an eight-year, unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty plus an eight-year, 200,000km battery warranty.

All GAC Australia models will also come with five years of roadside assistance.

There has been no news yet on capped-price servicing.

As well as confirming plans to expand its dealer network from the current 12 to 30-dealer network, GAC has previously told CarExpert it also has a fully stocked Melbourne spare parts inventory as it looks to establish trust among Australian new-vehicle buyers.
