Don’t love Ineos’ dual-cab ute? You can take it back

Ineos Australia has introduced a new campaign inviting customers to get behind the wheel of its Grenadier Quartermaster off-road dual-cab ute and return it if it’s not what they expected.

The new “Love It or Leave It” campaign now gives prospective owners the option to ‘sell’ their Grenadier Quartermaster back to Ineos, provided they decide they don’t like it within six months and have driven less than 15,000km.

While generally satisfied with its total monthly sales of roughly 100 units, Ineos Australia has indicated that the vast majority of those sales can be attributed to the Grenadier SUV, with the recently introduced Quartermaster ute trailing significantly.

Ineos’ Asia-Pacific region head Justin Hocevar says the campaign is not only a way to encourage people to try the Quartermaster but also boost awareness of the fledgling Ineos brand in Australia.

“As a scale-up brand, we recognise that we’re combatting brand awareness and trust, to an almost David-versus-Goliath extent with engrained industry giants who have become a default choice, particularly in regional Australia,” he said.

“Our ‘Love It or Leave It’ offer emobides not only our unwavering confidence in Quartermaster and the Grenadier vision, but it also demonstrates our steadfast commitment to building trust in our customers.

“Before opting for the default, we’re daring Aussies to do their research and put the Quartermaster to the test – trust us by buying it, taking it, off-road adventuring with it, and loving it. And if they don’t, leave it.”

The Grenadier Quartermaster went on sale in Australia in the first half of 2024, following the Grenadier SUV’s local arrival in 2023.

Ineos is marketing the Grenadier Quartermaster as a rugged, off-road-ready 4×4 ute that can be easily customised with aftermarket accessories.

At all four corners are coil springs and Brembo disc brakes, while a BMW 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six petrol or diesel can be found under the bonnet. Power is sent through an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox to solid beam axles.

Payload figures are 907kg and 832kg for the petrol and diesel models respectively, while the ute has 264mm of ground clearance, an 800mm wading depth, and a 3500kg towing capacity shared with the Grenadier.

The Grenadier Quartermaster is a direct rival to the Toyota LandCruiser 79 Series and costs between $105,000 and $118,000 before on-roads, depending on the variant.

Ineos’ offer is subject to terms and conditions, including the algorithm in which the Quartermaster’s guaranteed future value is determined.
