cadillac gives details on the 2026 lyriq v

Cadillac teased the performance-oriented Lyriq-V a while ago, but we’re just now learning the specifics of the American’s brand hotted-up EV. The 2026 Lyriq-V is Cadillac’s first V-branded EV and will arrive as the quickest car the automaker has ever made.

The V’s two electric motors make a combined 615 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Cadillac says the powertrain is good for a 3.3-second 0-60 mph time, making it the automaker’s fastest-accelerating vehicle. It also gets a special drive mode that maximizes traction and handling. Despite that performance, the EV manages a decent driving range of up to 285 miles on a charge.

While it’s not radically different from the normal Lyriq’s styling, the V gets exclusive 22-inch wheels, V-Series badging, and V-pattern accents across the exterior. Inside, the EV gets a dual-plane augmented reality head-up display, a 33-inch combined infotainment system and gauge cluster display, a 23-speaker AKG Studio sound system, and more. The Lyriq-V also gets a unique steering wheel, and Nappa leather is available with – you guessed it – V stitching.

Cadillac priced the Lyriq V at $79,990 to start, which excludes options, taxes, and the destination charge. That’s not cheap, but it’s not far off the prices set by its competitors. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, while not from a premium brand, starts at more than $67,000, while performance EVs from German brands like Mercedes-Benz and BMW go much higher than that.
