AutoHunter Spotlight: 1992 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 Summer Edition

Here in Arizona, the temperatures are already rising. We had about two weeks of winter weather and that’s about it. Whatever the weather is where you are, if you want your next car to be a convertible, now is a good time to start looking for one. If you want that to be a Fox-body Mustang, check out this 1992 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 Summer Edition convertible on AutoHunter.

The Summer Edition Mustang is well named because, like that time of year, it’s a combination of heat (Vibrant Red hue) and brightness (16-inch Opal Pearlescent aluminum wheels and power-operated white convertible top). It also was a short season, as Ford only produced 2,193 Summer Editions.

If the sun is beating down, stepping on the gas to open up the 225-horsepower, 300-lb-ft 5.0-liter V8 will get a breeze going. Shifting is no sweat thanks to this particular Summer Edition’s four-speed automatic.

It’s especially easy to stay cool with the top up. Not only are the seats covered in white leather, but there’s also air conditioning (for a different type of cool, the AM/FM/cassette radio is perfect for cranking up Vanilla Ice). Power steering and front disc brakes, cruise control, and power windows, locks, and mirrors make any drive more comfortable, no matter what the conditions are outside.

With only 61,531 miles on the odometer and a clean CARFAX report, this drop-top Mustang is ready for several more years of summertime cruising. But if you want to place the winning bid for it, you only have a few days as the auction for this 1992 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 Summer Edition convertible ends on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. (MST).
