Featured on AutoHunter is this restored 1961 Chevrolet Corvette, the final C1 with the 283 small-block. The version on this one is several steps up from standard as it features dual-quads with 270 horsepower backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Features include 15-inch wheels with knock-offs, manual steering, Wonderbar AM radio, and accessory hardtop. Painted Ermine White with Sateen Silver coves over a red vinyl interior, this C1 comes with the original owner’s manual, shop manual, sales literature, NCRS judging guide, and clear title.

This Corvette has emerged from a three-year restoration and has been driven less than 5,000 miles, so the Ermine White and Sateen Silver combo shines like it should—it’s also one of 385 Corvettes produced in this color combo. The convertible top, as well as the accessory hardtop, matches the exterior. Other features include left rear-view mirror and rear antenna.

A set of 15-inch wheels with knock-off wheel covers is wrapped in 205/75 Coker Classic whitewall radials.

The red vinyl interior features two bucket seats and a manual shifter on the floor. Other features include Wonderbar AM radio, clock, manual steering, and deluxe heater.

The instrument panel consists of a 160-mph speedometer, 7,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the oil pressure, coolant temperature, battery, and fuel. The odometer currently reads 29,699 miles, but the title reads mileage-exempt.

The engine is a dual-quad 283 V8 originally rated at 270 horsepower and assisted by a high-lift camshaft. It is connected to a four-speed manual transmission and 3.70 rear gears with Positraction.

The undercarriage features an independent coil-spring front suspension with a solid rear axle. Brakes are drums on all four corners. A dual exhaust system routs to the rear.
