Land Rover Breathes Life into Discovery Sport for ‘26

land rover breathes life into discovery sport for 26

A new Landmark Edition brings something fresh to this compact crossover.

Interestingly, it seems the Landmark is the only trim this year, or at least the only one to currently show up on the American build and price tool. Standard kit includes a fixed panoramic roof, a Meridian sound system, plus heated front seats and heated steering wheel. Also look for a surround view camera. Under its hood and behind that dark grey badging is a 2.0L turbo four-banger good for 249 horsepower. All-wheel drive is part of the deal.

Seeking to emulate some of its big brothers, the Discovery Sport will be available with a wider array of so-called curated accessory packs, ranging from themes like Beach Days and Road Trips to Snow Days and Biking Adventures. Fido will be glad to learn there is one for dogs, as well. These packages group together items which handy for their namesake; Beach Days gets tailored sunshades, for example.

Options are few, other than those packages. Premium paint shades will add about a grand, a miniscule third row will set you back $1,500 and most of your dignity, while a $1,600 handling pack adds adaptive dampers and the like. A heated windshield, headlight washers, and heated rear seats are a sensible spend of 890 bucks.

It’s been a few years since Land Rover has shovelled much meaningful attention to the Discovery Sport, a model which seems to ply its trade by relying on the prowess of its mates in the showroom. Still, a reasonably attractive base price helps get people in the door, at which time savvy sales staff will likely upsell them to something else.

The 2026 Discovery Sport will be priced from $49,900 plus fees.
