Currently listed on AutoHunter is this restored 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe. Power comes from a BluePrint Engines 383 stroker small-block backed by an equally new 700R4 automatic transmission. Features include factory metal, floor pans, trim, bumpers, wheel covers, and glass, aftermarket air conditioning, retro-look AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo, Positraction with 3.55 gears, and more. Painted two-tone Dusk Plum and India Ivory over a light beige cloth and leather interior, this classic Bow Tie comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.

A year has passed since the frame-off restoration of this Tri-Five, with much of the car was solid to begin with. The combination of Dusk Plum and India Ivory is gorgeous, highlighted by tasteful use of chrome around the windows and sides, not to mention the grille. Dual side mirrors are a nice touch, giving a sense of safety when going for a cruise. A set of 15-inch steel wheels with Chevrolet wheel covers is wrapped in staggered-width Nexen whitewall radials—225/75 up front, 235/75 out back.

The cabin is furnished in light beige cloth and leather upholstery with a split bench up front. Interior features include center-mounted cupholders, Nostalgic Air heater and air conditioning, power steering, aftermarket tilt steering column with three-spoke steering wheel, aftermarket retro-look stereo with AM/FM/Bluetooth, and aftermarket speakers in the kick panels and rear package tray.

Instrumentation includes a 110-mph speedometer and gauges for the coolant temperature and fuel. The odometer currently shows 27,928 but the title reads mileage-exempt.

The BluePrint Engines 383 stroker V8 is reported to produce an authentic 450 horsepower. It is topped by an aftermarket intake manifold, Holley four-barrel carburetor, and aluminum heads. Other features include a serpentine belt conversion and aluminum radiator. A four-speed 700R4 automatic transmission with 2400-rpm stall converter handles the shifting chores.

The undercarriage features a 10-bolt rear housing 3.55 gears with Positraction—a nice combination. Also hiding underneath are Hydroboost front disc brakes and a dual exhaust system.

Everyone has his or her favorite and, for some, the 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe was even hotter than the ’55. This AutoHunter Spotlight shines strong because it features plenty of original metal combined with a tasteful restoration featuring subtle improvements. If you’re mad at Santa and feel you deserve more, then this Chevy should do the trick—bid before Friday, January 2, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. (MST) and thumb your nose at the guy in the red suit.
