Registered Australian mental health charity Drive Against Depression has announced Ford Australia as its official ‘Event Vehicle Partner’.

The Blue Oval will support DAD’s motoring events across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide by providing the charity’s team with vehicles for the drives.

Ford’s 12-month financial commitment formalises a shared vision between the two organisations: “driving positive mental health outcomes together”.

“We’ve always had a great relationship with the team at Ford Australia – they’ve facilitated some unforgettable experiences,” said Michael Hanley, DAD’s director of marketing and brand.

“This extended commitment ensures we can deliver a consistent, high-quality event experience for the entire DAD community – wherever they live or whenever they need support.”

Ben Nightingale, product communications manager at Ford Australia, added: “Supporting Drive Against Depression aligns closely with our values, and we’re proud that our vehicles and support can help make an impact with communities to connect and talk openly about mental health”.

Drive Against Depression’s events calendar has concluded for 2025, with the next confirmed event being the 2026 Melbourne Summer Drive Day which is scheduled for February 1, 2026.

Drive Against Depression holds regular motoring events and continues to build a network of mental health practitioners to support the community and its mission to support mental wellness through the freedom of driving.

In 2025 the mental health charity hosted 10 separate events across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Various members of the CarExpert team are proud long-time supporters of DAD and its events. James Wong (Marketplace Editor) is a current charity ambassador, with founder Paul Maric a former ambassador.
