Future Porsche models will get evolutionary – not revolutionary – cabin technology, with the German carmaker unveiling its latest interior software overnight.
The upgraded Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system will make its debut in the 2026 911, Taycan, Panamera and Cayenne, and include features from the new electric Macan.
Porsche claims the new PCM has new hardware to make it more responsive and provide better access for third-party applications.
Headlining the changes is the new ‘App Centre’, which made its debut in the new Macan, offering both Porsche-created and third-party applications, depending on region.

These vary from entertainment apps (Spotify, YouTube) to navigation services, weather apps and news streams.
The new PCM also sees the debut of Amazon Alexa as a digital assistant, added to the brand’s existing Voice Pilot.
It’s not the first brand to employ Alexa, which debuted in cars with the Jaguar I-Pace, before BMW started to develop its new voice assistant on Amazon’s technology.
Via Amazon Alexa, occupants can control smart home functions – garage doors, lighting – or use it to control PCM apps.
In addition to this, Porsche cars fitted with Bose or Burmester sound systems will gain Dolby Atmos, promising an even clearer and more immersive audio experience.
Mercedes-Benz, Polestar and Cadillac already offer Dolby Atmos in certain high-end vehicles, though Porsche’s inclusion of the technology will give it an even wider audience.
On top of these features, buyers will receive a complimentary 10-year subscription to Porsche Connect.
Unfortunately there’s no sign of Apple’s next-generation CarPlay smartphone mirroring system, despite being slated to debut in Porsche cars last year.
The latest CarPlay iteration was delayed earlier this year.
