Hi all — our parent company has Veteran’s Day set as an American holiday, so we’re off on Tuesday.
Well, I am not — I am driving a new car in a beautiful locale. The things I do for you.
There may a few scheduled/featured posts tomorrow, as well as any important breaking news if need be. Otherwise, we’re back at it Wednesday.
I also wanted to address a few things I’ve seen the comments and my inbox, as well as a quick update on why there was no Junkyard Find today.
Let’s start with JF — there’s a technical gremlin preventing publication of the most recent posts that Murilee filed. So, not to worry, Junkyard Finds will return as soon as that is sorted.
I also wanted to touch briefly on some confusion I’ve seen on the Content Creators series. Although most of these posts contain language explaining the series, some folks don’t seem to understand the purpose.
Simply put, we’re giving some automotive content producers a platform. It’s a bit like how newspapers run items from other outlets with permission.
These posts won’t replace our own content, and that includes car reviews — almost all of the cars featured by folks like Robin Warner and Connie Peters are cars that neither myself nor any contributors have driven yet. So you get a fresh voice and exposure to vehicles we’ve not tested. I also have a blitz of reviews planned for the rush towards year’s end, so stay tuned.
Hopefully that gives you some clarity.
Finally, I know our content mix has been feature heavy lately. We have a small staff, we’re short a person, and several of us are in the midst of heavy travel schedules. Bear with us as we look for our next newsbot, and remember that the LA Auto Show is around the corner and we’ll be on site covering it heavily.
Thanks for reading and happy Veteran’s Day!
