2025 Peugeot 5008 price and specs: French Santa Fe rival gets cheaper

The new-generation Peugeot 5008 range will open at $55,990 before on-road costs when it launches here this year.

Peugeot has published pricing on its website for the three-row sibling to its latest 3008, as well as a limited specifications list.

We’ve contacted the company to confirm when the 5008 will launch; it has previously confirmed only that it’ll arrive during 2025.

The company has yet to lock in timing for the electric E-5008 for our market, though it has been approved for sale here by the Australian Government.

That leaves only a single powertrain for our market: a 100kW turbocharged 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system.

The 5008’s base price is close to $10,000 cheaper than that of the outgoing 5008, which from model year 2023 was only available in a single, highly specified GT Sport trim.

Based on a New South Wales postcode, the new entry-level 5008 Allure has a drive-away price of $61,230. That still undercuts runout pricing of the old 5008 last year ($62,990 drive-away), but not by as much, while it also puts the new 5008 up against larger, more powerful rivals.

For example, the Hyundai Santa Fe range opens at $53,000 before on-road costs ($58,095 drive-away in NSW) for the base front-wheel drive model, equipped with a 2.5-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine pumping out 206kW.

It’s also more expensive than the new-generation Skoda Kodiaq range, which opens at $54,990 before on-road costs and uses a 140kW turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine.
