Audi is recalling its plug-in hybrid Q8 large SUV because its high-voltage battery poses a fire risk.

“Due to a manufacturing issue, the modules installed in the high voltage battery may be defective,” the company says in its recall notice.

“During charging a thermal overload could result in a vehicle fire.

“A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users, bystanders and/or damage to property.”
