2026 Audi A3 TFSI quattro 150kW: Sporty new small car priced for Australia

Audi is plugging a gap in its A3 small car lineup with a new mid-range variant that could be the sweet spot for some buyers.

The Audi A3 TFSI quattro 150kW S line is due in local dealerships by the end of the year, priced at $62,800 before on-road costs for the hatch (‘Sportback’) and $65,800 before on-roads for the sedan.

As its name suggests, it produces 150kW of power – and 320Nm of torque – from a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, mated with an all-wheel drive system. The only transmission is a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The new variant slots in neatly between the base TFSI 110kW S line and the S3.

The entry-level TFSI 110kW S line produces 110kW and 250Nm from its turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, and is priced at $54,800 and $57,800 before on-roads in Sportback and Sedan guise respectively. The S3, in contrast, uses a 245kW/420Nm turbo 2.0-litre four and is priced from $78,800 to $81,800 before on-roads.

It serves as a belated replacement for the old 40 TFSI quattro – which wasn’t introduced as part of the facelifted A3 lineup earlier this year – and pumps out an extra 10kW over its predecessor, albeit with an unchanged torque figure.

Over the TFSI 110kW S line, the new variant includes:

  • Unique 18-inch graphite grey alloy wheels
  • Auto-dimming, heated and power-folding exterior mirrors
  • Selectable drive modes
  • Surround-view camera
  • Power-adjustable passenger seat
  • Leather-appointed upholstery
  • Adjustable ambient lighting (30 colours)
  • Auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror

It’s also available with a $1990 Premium plus package that brings a memory function for the mirrors and driver’s seat, a Sonos 3D sound system, and a head-up display.
