Skoda Australia is gearing up to launch its first-ever plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles in early 2026, with early specifications now announced for the incoming Kodiaq PHEV.
While both the Kodiaq PHEV and Superb PHEV are slated for a local launch in the first quarter of 2026, Australia-specific specifications have only been confirmed for the former.
The electrified SUV promises an impressive 112km of electric range on the WLTP cycle, and Skoda says it’ll be positioned between the existing petrol-powered Sportline and RS “with an emphasis on style, technology and premium appointments”.
While it’s launching here in base Select trim, the PHEV’s positioning between the Sportline and RS means it’ll be priced between $61,990 and $76,990 drive-away – likely similar to the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Exceed ($69,290 before on-roads), and cheaper than the related Cupra Terramar VZe ($77,990 before on-roads).
For context, the petrol Kodiaq Select is priced at $56,990 drive-away.

The Kodiaq Select PHEV’s powertrain sees a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated with an 85kW/330Nm electric motor, for total peak outputs of 150kW of power and 350Nm of torque. This provides a claimed 0-100km/h time of 8.4 seconds.
It’s fed by a 25.7kWh lithium-ion battery capable of charging at 11kW (AC) and 50kW (DC), while Skoda Australia claims a fuel economy figure of 1.85L/100km. As with most other PHEVs, this figure is to be taken with a grain of salt.
Multiple drive modes will be available, with selectable low, high, and automatic regenerative braking levels. This is supported by two power delivery modes – hybrid or electric – as well as two on-the-move charging modes: automatic, which uses the engine to charge the battery; and manual, which exclusively relies on plug-in charging.
The Select PHEV comes only with five seats, down from the petrol Kodiaq’s seven-seat configuration. The Czech brand says this is due to constraints on battery packaging.

Standard equipment is largely shared with the petrol Kodiaq Select. Exterior highlights include 19-inch alloy wheels, heated and power-folding side mirrors, and keyless entry, while the interior features heated, power-adjustable front seats, tri-zone climate control, and twin wireless charging pads.
There’s also a 13.0-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside a full suite of safety gear including adaptive cruise control, lane-centring, and traffic sign recognition.
Additionally, both Kodiaq Select models will now be available with Skoda’s optional Signature Package, replacing the Launch Edition pack that was available when the second-generation Kodiaq launched earlier in 2025.
This brings the following:
- Eight-way power-adjustable front seats with a massage function
- Intelligent park assist
- Hands-free power tailgate
- Heated steering wheel
- Heated outboard rear seats
- Head-up display
- Surround-view camera
- Matrix LED headlights
- Illuminated front grille

The Select PHEV will be the fourth new variant in the second-generation Kodiaq range, following the petrol Select, Sportline, and RS.
It’ll also be joined by the Kodiaq Select mHEV (mild-hybrid) in the second quarter of 2026, positioned at the very bottom of the range as a fleet-oriented vehicle. A mild-hybrid Octavia is also slated for launch at a similar time.
A PHEV version of the large Superb wagon will join the Kodiaq Select PHEV in early 2026, with a liftback version following later in the year.
