The Petersen Automotive Museum’s exhibit, “People’s Champ: The Impact of Ken Block,” which pays tribute to the motorsports icon’s life and achievements, is now open in the Meyer Gallery. The exhibit showcases key milestones in Block’s legendary career and is the most extensive collection of his vehicles, personal effects and memorabilia ever assembled.

The display is designed to celebrate Block’s impact across a variety of industries as a racer, entrepreneur and creative visionary. Block captured global audiences with his viral Gymkhana video series, which fused his passion for rallying with cinematic flair, captivating millions and raising the bar for automotive content. In addition to his racing career, Block co-founded DC Shoes, which grew into a globally recognized action sports apparel brand. He later founded Hoonigan, a brand that champions speed, rebellion and passion while bringing fans together worldwide.

“Block’s profound influence has ignited the passion of millions. This exhibit is a tribute to his extraordinary legacy,” said Terry L. Karges, executive director of the Petersen Automotive Museum. “His fearless driving and innovative vision in motorsports content have forever shaped the automotive landscape.”

The exhibit includes a collection of Block’s most iconic vehicles, racing suits, helmets and mementos from significant moments in his career. It details a timeline of key events in Block’s life and racing career, punctuated by the “Ain’t Care Wall,” which displays broken and damaged vehicle pieces that represent his fearless attitude and popular mantra.

Vehicles currently displayed in the exhibit include:

– 1965 Ford Mustang RTR “Hoonicorn,” the star of “Gymkhana SEVEN: Wild in the Streets of Los Angeles,” “Climbkhana: Pikes Peak” and “Gymkhana TEN: Ultimate Tire Shredding Tour”
– 2005 Subaru WRX STI “Gymkhana Practice,” the car that started it all and the original star of the Gymkhana series
– 2008 Subaru WRX StI from “Gymkhana TWO: The Informercial”
– 1977 Ford F-150 “Hoonitruck,” featured in “Gymkhana TEN,” inspired by Block’s father’s F-150, the first car Block learned to drive
– 2022 Audi S1 E-Tron Quattro “Hoonitron,” designed for “Electrikhana”
– 1994 Ford Escort RS Cosworth WRC “Cossie V2”

“People’s Champ: The Impact of Ken Block” was created in partnership with 43 Institute, a nonprofit focused on offering mentorship and resources to keep Block’s legacy alive and inspire future generations.

“This exhibit is a meaningful tribute to Ken’s legacy, reflecting his lasting impact and the inspiration he brought to motorsports and car culture,” said Ken’s wife, Lucy. “43 Institute is committed to fostering the opportunities that sparked his passion and creativity.”

“People’s Champ: The Impact of Ken Block” will be on display until October 2025. To purchase tickets or for more information about the Petersen Automotive Museum, please visit Petersen.org/exhibits.
