2026 Hyundai Venue: Entry-level SUV spied with undisguised new body

The second-generation Hyundai Venue has been spied completely undisguised on the streets of South Korea.

These images were captured by Instagram user casper_i.vory, and published by The Korean Car Blog. For the new model, Hyundai has kept the basic silhouette, but there’s a new body with a modern design language.

At the front, the Venue once again features a split headlight treatment, but this time the daytime running light graphic extends down into the main headlight unit.

There’s a black plastic panel with a faux light bar joining the two upper light housings, while the design of bezels for the main and high beam headlights blends them, somewhat, into the grille pattern.

Prominent creases above the wheel arches give the relatively flat sides a bit of visual excitement, and the outer edges of the grey wheel arch protectors are no longer round.

Aft of the rear doors there’s a new window, and the D-pillar is covered with a slab of plastic featuring a body colour island in a sea of gloss black.

Out the back the brake and driving lights are housed in a thin strip of black plastic stretching the width of the car, while the indicators and reversing lights live in pods in the bumper. At both ends there’s plenty of bash plate-style silver plastic.

On the inside a long rectangular slab stretches from ahead of the driver to the centre of the dashboard, and serves as a home for the touchscreen infotainment system and instrumentation display. Underneath the centre vents are an array of physical buttons and knobs for the air conditioning and audio systems.

The modern dashboard clashes with the basic centre tunnel that houses a manual transmission and mechanical hand brake.

Currently the Venue serves as the entry point to the local Hyundai range with prices starting from $22,750 before on-road costs. The base model has a six-speed manual, with all other variants equipped with a six-speed auto.

All local Venues are powered by a 90kW/151Nm 1.6-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine. We miss out on the diesel engines and smaller petrol motors offered overseas.

Venues made in South Korea — including those sold in Australia — missed out on an extensive facelift applied to Indian-built models from 2022. Venues produced in India and sold through the Middle East all sport a revised interior, and a front end inspired by the then-contemporary Palisade.

To the end of September 2025, Hyundai has sold 6010 Venues in Australia, an increase of 17.9 per cent over the same time last year. It’s currently third in the light SUV segment behind the Mazda CX-3 (11,971) and Toyota Yaris Cross (8319), and ahead of the Suzuki Jimny (5929) and Kia Stonic (5029).

No word yet on when the Venue will have its global debut, but it can’t be far away now with undisguised prototypes cruising the streets. Nor do we know if or when the second-generation model will arrive Down Under.
