2025 Mitsubishi Triton GSR Special Edition: Flagship gets different look for lower price

Mitsubishi has introduced a new special edition that takes the top-of-the-line version of one of its most popular models and gives it a slightly different look, for a slightly lower price.

The Mitsubishi Triton GSR Special Edition is priced at $63,140 before on-road costs, or $700 less than the regular GSR.

That applies to its drive-away pricing too. For private buyers in New South Wales, for example, it’s priced at $65,290 drive-away instead of $65,990 drive-away.

It gains a graphite grey grille, and swaps the regular GSR’s sailplane for a black sports bar.

It also loses out on the GSR’s chunky fender flares for simpler body-colour wheel arches like more affordable Tritons.

However, Mitsubishi says the removal of the fender flares allows for additional customisation options through its range of genuine accessories.

Black Mica and Graphite Grey exterior finishes are no-cost options, with Yamabuki Orange and White Diamond available for an extra $200.

You still get the black 18-inch alloy wheels, power driver’s seat, and the black leather upholstery with orange stitching of the GSR.

That’s in addition to features standard in lesser Tritons, including LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, proximity entry with push-button start, and a 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto.

All Tritons also feature a wide range of standard safety equipment. You can read our detailed price and spec article here.

As with all new-generation Tritons produced from November 2024 onwards, the GSR Special Edition also features an updated adaptive cruise control with a full-stop function.

Previously, the system disengaged at approximately 25km/h.

As with all Tritons, the GSR Special Edition is backed by a 10-year, 200,000km warranty and 10 years of capped-price servicing, though the warranty drops down to five years or 100,000km if you don’t service within the Mitsubishi dealer network.

12 years of roadside assist is standard, which can be maintained for up to four years if you service within the Mitsubishi dealer network and follow the service schedule.

Mitsubishi launched the new-generation Triton here early in 2024, and is continuing to expand the lineup. Club Cab and cab/chassis versions are expected later in the first half of this year.
