MG sweetens EV deals with free Evie charging voucher

MG is encouraging more buyers into its growing portfolio of electric vehicles (EVs), offering customers who buy a new EV before the end of this year a 12-month Evie Networks public charging voucher.

The voucher, which includes a 1000kWh charging credit, allows MG EV drivers access to the Australia-wide Evie fast-charging network, which offers a simplified charging process without the need for an app or RFID card. Instead, it automatically recognises your vehicle when you arrive at a charger.

Four of MG Motor Australia’s five current EVs are eligible for this offer until December 31, including the MG 4 hatch and MG S5 EV small SUV, as well as the IM5 sedan and IM6 SUV from MG’s new luxury brand, IM Motor.

The only model excluded is the Cyberster roadster, a more exclusive performance EV priced from $99,900 before on-road costs.

MG Motor Australia business director Stuart Mitchell says the deal, which joins the Chinese brand’s drive-away pricing for eligible models, is intended to encourage car buyers to consider an EV.

“MG Motor Australia believes that EVs should be within reach for all Aussies, not just in terms of affordability, but also in how easy they are to own and run,” he said.

All MG vehicles are covered by a 10-year, 250,000km warranty (whichever comes first), provided owners get their vehicles serviced at MG dealerships. IM models, meanwhile, are backed by a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.

MG says all customers will receive instructions on how to activate their Evie charging account and voucher at the time of vehicle delivery.

Pricing for eligible MG EVs is as follows:

Model Drive-away price
2026 MG 4 From $37,990
2026 MG S5 EV From $40,990
2026 MG IM5 From $60,990
2026 MG IM6 From $60,990
