2025 Skoda Octavia price and specs: Hot RS gets more kit, power for higher price

The latest version of the Skoda Octavia RS has been priced for Australia, joining the already launched and more affordable Octavia Select.

Skoda unveiled the facelifted, fourth-generation Octavia in February last year, with the liftback and wagon getting new equipment, an interior and exterior refresh, and changes under the skin.

The Octavia Select went on sale in October, starting from from $41,490 drive-away in liftback guise (down $1000 on the previous entry-level Style), or $43,990 drive-away for the roomier wagon.

Nationwide drive-away pricing for the Octavia RS will be announced closer to deliveries starting in March 2025, however it’s likely to start above the $60,000 mark, with the liftback now starting from $58,490 before on-road costs, while the wagon is $59,990 plus on-roads.

This means the new Octavia RS is $5130 (wagon) to $5330 (liftback) dearer than its predecessor, due to the previously optional $6600 Premium Pack becoming standard equipment.

For context, the pre-facelift Octavia RS liftback was priced from $56,990 drive-away, while the RS wagon started at $58,490 drive-away.

Features which were previously optional in the Octavia RS but are now standard include adaptive suspension (marketed as Dynamic Chassis Control); power-adjustable front seats with memory, lumbar and massaging functions; a head-up display; tri-zone climate control; and a 12-speaker sound system, among others.

The entire Octavia range was treated to new-look LED headlights – with the portion closest to the grille now extended downwards – which incorporate an inverted daytime running light signature. RS variants get Matrix LEDs as standard.

Inside, the cabin now features powerful USB-C outlets (now 45 watts), a 13-inch infotainment screen, a 15-watt wireless smartphone charger and a heated steering wheel.

The Octavia RS is the only variant in the lineup to feature Skoda’s intelligent park assist system, as well as a surround-view camera.

Under the bonnet its turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine has been given a 15kW bump, now producing 195kW and 370Nm – identical to the upcoming Mk8.5 Volkswagen Golf GTI.

In the Octavia RS, power continues to be sent to the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The company is yet to detail service pricing for the 2025 Octavia.

On the pre-update Octavia, Skoda offers a prepaid service pack which covers the first seven years or 105,000km of servicing. This is priced from $3650 for vehicles with a torque-converter automatic, and $4200 for those with a dual-clutch auto.
