Cupra prices its most expensive model for Australia yet

Cupra Australia has confirmed the Terramar VZe plug-in hybrid (PHEV) for a November 2025 arrival, priced from $77,990 before on-road costs and options.

Serving as the new flagship for the 2026 Cupra Terramar lineup and indeed the entire Cupra range, it’s the most expensive model in the Spanish brand’s local lineup costing nearly $10,000 more before on-road costs than the petrol-only Terramar VZ.

While more expensive than other mid-size PHEV SUVs from Chinese and Japanese brands, the Terramar VZe claims to offer premium levels of design, fit and finish and equipment, as well as lengthy WLTP-certified zero-emissions driving range and the engaging dynamics the brand prides itself on.

Specification is largely aligned with the petrol-powered Terramar VZ, meaning the PHEV wants for little in terms of standard kit.

  • Wireless Android Auto

Options:

  • Century Bronze matte paint: $2900
  • Panoramic sunroof: $2000

The Terramar VZe’s ‘Gen2’ e-Hybrid system combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor and 20kWh (net) lithium-ion battery, quoting total outputs of 200kW/400Nm, and 110km of EV driving range on the WLTP test cycle.

Drive is sent exclusively to the front wheels via a six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Zero to 100km/h takes a claimed 7.3 seconds, which is a little slower than the VZ’s claim of 5.9 seconds, while fuel consumption is rated at a thrifty 0.5L/100km.

The battery pack is able to be charged at a rate of up to 11kW with an AC connection or 50kW with a DC fast-charger.
