Suzuki Fronx gets drive-away deal ahead of first Australian deliveries

Suzuki Australia has announced drive-away pricing for its new Fronx light SUV, ahead of first customer deliveries commencing on September 1, 2025.

The Fronx – available in a single grade, priced at $28,990 before on-road costs – is being offered for $29,990 drive-away by Suzuki Australia.

However, Suzuki Queensland – which is responsible for the brand in the Sunshine State and NSW’s Northern Rivers region – is advertising a slightly higher price of $30,990 drive-away.

The only options nationwide are premium paint. Suzuki Australia charges $745 for single-tone options and $1345 for two-tone ones, with Suzuki Queensland’s configurator listing these for $690 and $1190 respectively.

The Fronx is a new nameplate for Suzuki, and slots in under the Vitara which Suzuki Queensland is discontinuing but which Suzuki Australia will soon offer with a mild-hybrid powertrain.

The new SUV, which is a replacement of sorts for the defunct Ignis and Baleno, is offered in Australia exclusively with a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine mated with a 12V mild-hybrid system and a six-speed automatic transmission.

Suzuki is offering the Fronx in just one trim level with a suite of active safety technology standard plus niceties like a head-up display, a surround-view camera and heated front seats.

In Queensland, this wears the GLX nameplate, while Suzuki Australia simply calls the car the Fronx Hybrid.

The Fronx was designed and developed by Suzuki’s Maruti division in India, and is exported from there to markets like ours and Japan. It shares its platform with the updated Baleno, which wasn’t introduced to Australia.

Suzuki Australia says it has secured almost 1000 pre-orders since launching its teaser campaign in August.

The Fronx is just under 4m long, making it almost the exact length of the Mahindra XUV 3XO and among the smaller vehicles in the light SUV segment, though it’s still significantly larger than the 3.7m-long Ignis.

Price-wise, it battles larger SUVs like the Chery Tiggo 4 and C5, GWM Haval Jolion, Hyundai Venue, Kia Stonic, MG ZS, and Nissan Juke.
