Toyota renamed the bZ4X and gave it a range of improvements for the 2026 model year, and we now know the price. The upgraded EV starts at $36,350 after destination, giving it a lower starting price than its predecessor, though the entry-level configuration did lose some range.

The 2026 bZ XLE FWD has a range of 236 miles, down slightly from last year’s 252 base mileage. That said, its price is $2,170 less than before, thanks to a smaller 57.5-kWh battery. Power output is also down, at just 168 horsepower from the previous year’s 201.

The XLE Plus costs $39,350 and offers a longer 314-mile range. It also has a larger battery, now up to 74.7 kWh, and power output is up slightly to 221 horsepower. The XLE AWD costs $41,350 and gained 124 horsepower, now delivering 338. Range is also up, reaching 288 miles. The range-topping Limited AWD trim costs $46,750.

While some of the new bZ models gained range and power, the EV’s middling charging speeds didn’t change. They remain stuck at 150 kW, putting the Toyota far behind today’s most advanced models, which offer speeds of more than 300 kW. Despite that, the bZ now comes with a Tesla NACS charging port, and Toyota upgraded its AC charging speeds, making home charging faster.
