The 2025 Hyundai Palisade has been generally well-reviewed, earning strong marks for a nice interior and generous standard features, but the automaker is recalling a handful of the popular SUVs for a potentially serious issue. Hyundai recently recalled 620 Palisades from the 2025 model year for a problem that could cause an electrical short and fire.

Recall documentation states that the electric oil pumps (EOP) in some 2025 Palisades may not have sufficient sealing on their controller housing due to damaged production line tooling. If broken, the seal could let moisture enter the controller circuit board, causing a short and increasing the fire risk. Hyundai said tooling used to seal the EOP controller housing had a damaged spring that prevented proper sealing.

While this sounds serious, the problem only affects a handful of the almost 37,000 Palisades Hyundai has sold so far this year. Additionally, the automaker said it is unaware of any crashes, fires, or property damage related to the issue, but owners are still advised not to ignore the recall.

Owners can continue to drive their Palisades, but the automaker recommends parking them outside and away from any structures. Owners will be notified by mail soon and will receive a free diagnostic and repair if necessary. Dealers will replace the EOP controller with one that offers adequate sealing.
