The refreshed 2025 Genesis Electrified GV70 has landed in Australian showrooms with refreshed styling, higher equipment levels – including a bigger battery that delivers its longest driving range yet – and a $6942 price rise.
Following price rises of between $5600 and $16,000 for the updated petrol-powered GV70 range in November 2024, the facelifted Electrified GV70 – its official name – is again available in one all-wheel drive specification grade, this time dubbed the Signature Performance variant, is now available for $132,800 before on-road costs.
That’s up from the previous Performance variant’s price of $125,059 and significantly more than other mid-size premium electric SUVs including the Polestar 4 (from $78,500 plus on-roads) and BMW iX3 (from $91,000) lineups, both of which open with rear-drive variants, and the AWD-only Audi Q6 e-tron (from $115,500) and Lexus RZ ($121,059).

The battery-electric five-seat medium SUV, which joined the current GV70 range in 2022, also now commands a $32,600 price premium over the flagship petrol-powered GV70 Signature.
For 2025, the Electrified GV70 gets a bigger battery pack with the same 84kWh capacity as seen in the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 electric SUVs, replacing the previous 77kWh unit.
It adds a claimed 17km to the driving range, which now officially stands at 462km (up from 445km, both according to the WLTP standard).
To make it easier to charge, Genesis has fitted the GV70 EV with an electrically opening charging port cover with improved lighting and a heating element to aid its cold-weather operation.
Thanks to its 800-volt electrical architecture, a 10 to 80 per cent battery top-up can be accomplished in a claimed 19 minutes using a 350kW DC fast-charger (if you can find one in Australia).
The 2025 model uses the same 320kW/605Nm dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain as previously – which spikes to 360kW/700Nm for 10 seconds in ‘Boost Mode’ – and comes with the same 4.4-second 0-100km/h acceleration claim.
Visual changes include a new wheel design and revised bumpers, with the rear indicators now placed higher up from the bumper and integrated into the tail-lights.
Cabin updates include a 27-inch OLED (Organic LED) integrated dashboard display, which the Korean automaker says offers a 30 per cent larger information area and works in conjunction with the driver’s head-up display.
It includes updated graphics, navigation and voice recognition – for features including the air-conditioning, windows, sunroof and seat heating – with the system accessed via thumb recognition.
The Nappa leather upholstery covers a front passenger seat which now has integrated seat memory, which was previously only offered on the driver’s side.
There’s also ambient lighting from the dashboard to the doors, a two-tone steering wheel with updated Genesis logo, and a digital rear-view mirror.
A 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound system is also new for 2025 and includes ‘G-Matrix’ aluminium speaker grilles, while a new air aroma diffuser controls the scent in the cabin.
Advanced driver assistance systems include navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC), Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2), Lane Following Assist 2 (LFA2) and Force Collision-avoidance Assist 2 (FCA2).
The FAC2 system brings Junction Crossing, Evasive Steering Assist and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 to the tech suite.
Also designed to improve both passenger and driver comfort is Crosswind Stabilisation, an Intelligent Front Lighting System including a Dynamic Welcome Light, and new rear suspension bushings intended to reduced vibration.
