2025 Geely EX5: Even more generous incentives for fledgling EV

Less than two months after its release, the new Geely EX5 is now being offered with even more generous incentives including a $2000 trade-in bonus, complimentary Mode 2 home charging cable and the choice of either a $2000 gift card or five years of free scheduled servicing.

The latest promotional offer for the new mid-size electric SUV, which single-handedly launched the Chinese auto brand in Australia in March, is available for all EX5 orders placed between today (May 1) and the end of the financial year (June 30).

It follows Geely’s initial launch offer for the EX5 – priced from just $40,990 before on-road costs, making it Australia’s cheapest mid-size electric SUV apart from the smaller BYD Atto 3 – which included three years of free servicing, one year of free public charging, free premium paint and a free home charger for orders placed before the end of April.

Geely also offered a 3.88 per cent finance comparison rate for the EX5, first customer deliveries of which started on March 12.

For the remainder of its first month on sale, the EX5 notched up 188 registrations, and Geely says it has now received 1000 orders for the new EV.

Geely has committed to releasing six new models in Australia within the next three years, including a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the EX5.

For now, the EX5 is available in two single-motor, front-wheel drive electric variants producing 160kW of power and 320Nm of torque.

These include the entry-level Complete priced at $40,990 before on-roads, and the flagship Inspire priced at $44,990 plus on-roads, putting Geely Auto Australia’s first EV on par with many of Australia’s most popular petrol-, diesel and hybrid-powered medium SUVs.

“Geely understands the initial anxiety many Australians feel when considering their first electric vehicle,” said Geely Auto Australia CEO, Lei Li.

“Questions around how and where to charge, ongoing costs of ownership, and how an EV compares to a traditional petrol or diesel car are very much front of mind for buyers. The EOFY offer has been designed to ease these concerns and make the transition to EV ownership feel simple, supported, and rewarding.

“More Australians are considering the switch to electric – not just for sustainability but for lifestyle, technology, and cost-of-ownership reasons. Our EOFY offer is all about giving buyers the green light to take the leap by first alleviating the hurdle of selling privately, and easing concerns around charging and servicing.”

The Geely EX5 is backed by a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty, an eight-year/unlimited-km battery warranty, up to seven years of complimentary roadside assist and a five-star ANCAP safety rating.
