The toughest Chevrolet pickup truck available in Australia has received a slightly tougher look for 2025, after getting a more substantial update last year.
The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD gains blacked-out front and rear bumpers and red recovery hooks, and 20-inch high-gloss black alloy wheels with a different design.
There’s also now a much wider range of paint colours, with six in total – up from four last year.

Cypress Grey, Radiant Red, Sterling Grey and Lakeshore Blue join the carryover Summit White and Black, with Red Hot and Slate Grey dropped from the palette.
Australian Chevrolet distributor GM Specialty Vehicles has released only one image of the updated vehicle.
Apart from these minor colour and trim tweaks, however, the 2500 HD – available in a single LTZ trim – remains unchanged. The brawny full-size dual-cab 4×4 pickup continues to be positioned above the Silverado 1500, powered by a 6.6-litre turbo-diesel V8 instead of the lighter-duty pickup’s 6.2-litre petrol V8.
Compared to the model year 2024 (MY24) Silverado HD, pricing is up by $3500.
The Silverado HD continues to be converted from left- to right-hand drive by Walkinshaw Automotive in Melbourne.

Drivetrains and Efficiency
The Silverado HD is offered with just one engine, a 6.6-litre turbo-diesel V8.
It’s mated exclusively with a 10-speed automatic transmission incoporating an external auxiliary transmission cooler.
The pickup has a two-speed transfer case, allowing you to select between 2WD, Auto, 4WD HI and 4WD Lo modes.
An automatic locking rear differential is standard.
Rear suspension comprises leaf springs, while all Australian-market Silverado HDs have the Z71 Off-Road suspension package including Rancho twin-tube shocks front and rear.
There are technically two different configurations for the Silverado 2500 HD – NB1 and NB2 – which are priced the same, but offer different payload and gross vehicle mass (GVM) figures.

Servicing and Warranty
The Chevrolet Silverado HD is backed by a three-year, 100,000km warranty, with three years of roadside assistance.
